On February 25, the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nail Zalakov met with a delegation of the Bukhara region of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by the governor of the Bukhara region of the Republic of Uzbekistan Uktam Barnoev in order to identify areas of cooperation.
Also, the meeting was attended by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marcel Makhmutov, Ildus Gabdrakhmanov, Talgat Tagirzyanov, Lenar Garipov and Rishat Khabipov, General Director of JSC "RACIN" Denis Samodurov and other officials.
The meeting was opened by First Deputy Minister Nail Zalakov. “Today, we are glad to welcome you to our Ministry of Agriculture and Food,” he said. The First Deputy Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan spoke about the features of the agricultural complex of Tatarstan.
Introducing the delegation, Uktam Barnoev noted that Russia and Uzbekistan have always been strategically important and reliable partners. Uzbekistan aims to increase trade and is ready to cooperate with Tatarstan in the areas of agricultural production.
The guests told about the production of crops in their republic, paying particular attention to the cotton industry and silkworm production; due to favorable weather conditions for growing raw materials they provide high quality products.
Also in the Bukhara region of Uzbekistan, a large-scale greenhouse construction project is being implemented, about 1000 hectares of greenhouses for growing vegetables were erected in a year. Therefore, the Uzbek side is ready to consider export areas of cooperation, as well as invest in the construction of a wholesale distribution center in Tatarstan.
In addition, Nail Zalakov invited the breeders of Uzbekistan to take part in the All-Russian competition of livestock breeders, which will be held from May 18 to 22.
During the meeting, the participants decided to create a working group for further cooperation in various fields of agriculture.
