How to grow cows providing the largest milk production in Russia

18 February 2020, Tuesday

The round table on the topic “Innovative technologies in animal husbandry”, chaired by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Lenar Garipov, held as part of the Agro-Industrial Forum of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, met a great interest of agricultural specialists.

And expectations were not deceived. The topic of speeches was relevant, and guests were so emotional that they involuntarily provoked a lively response in the hall, sometimes turning into a discussion.

If we bring the common denominator to the speeches, we can draw the following conclusion: in livestock breeding, the farm is not a “milk factory” with anonymized dairy herd anymore, but it is now considered as the habitat of “royal people”, where each cow has its own noble family tree . For example, JSC “GPP“ Elite ”: its general director Fannur Zaripov spoke about the huge number of doses of seed received from the best bulls located here and stored at the enterprise in accordance with all the rules. There the specialists of most of our farms get seed material for artificial insemination of our Tatarstan cows.

Is there space to grow? Yes, there is. Thoroughbred, with high genetic potential of cows and need to be fed in a special way. It is known, for example, that the leader of dairy production in the republic is LLC APK "Prodprogram" of the Mamadysh district, lays about 20 different feed components in diets for feeding cows, drawing up diets based on regular biochemical analysis of animal blood and nutritional values of feed reserves. That is why this year, JSC “GPP“ Elita ” bought and assembled a modern laboratory that will provide farms with data on feed quality for three dozen indicators. By identifying each cow in the herd thanks to special instruments - chips, equipped with Selex, Dairy Comp 305, Del-Pro and other computer-based metering programs, and receiving feed analysis data in storage, our specialists will be able to compile complete balanced rations for cows located in different physiological states. Yes, so far such "paradise" conditions are not created in many farms, but judging by the increase in the productivity of cows in the republic for many years, our breeders are on the right track.

Listening to speeches on various aspects of dairy farming - about specific production experience, scientific and implementation achievements, about new equipment for farms, etc., the roundtable participants were able to deepen their knowledge, draw more accurate conclusions about the ways of further development of dairy livestock in their households.
