11 February 2020, Tuesday

Agricultural insurance is an effective tool to ensure the financial stability of farmers. A round table organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan on February 13 at 11.00 as part of the Agro-Industrial Forum at the Kazan Expo will be devoted to this topic. The results of agricultural insurance in 2019 will be announced by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildus Gabdrakhmanov. Also, the President of the NSA Korney Bizhov will take part in the event.

The round table will consider the most relevant insurance issues for agricultural producers, such as agricultural insurance with state support, recent legislative changes and practical aspects of insurance. Farmers can not only get a lot of useful information for themselves, but also ask questions and share their own experience.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov during the Republican agronomic meeting noted that agricultural insurance is of particular importance for the regions of risky farming, which include the republic, and is a real opportunity for agricultural producers to conduct stable activities, to forecast in advance income without fear of adverse weather conditions. Farmers can receive reimbursement of up to 90% of the cost of paying insurance premiums. In addition, the insured crop can serve as a collateral when obtaining various loans by agricultural producers, and the cost of crop insurance can be attributed to the cost of production.

Recall that compensation from the federal budget for the death of winter crops in 2019 was received only by agricultural producers who had insured winter crops. In 2018, 580 thousand ha of winter crops were sown for the 2019 harvest, but due to adverse weather conditions,

they died on an area of 218 thousand ha. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan introduced an emergency regime to prevent a threat to food security in Tatarstan. A crops area of 12.5 thousand hectares was insured. By order of the Government of the Russian Federation, Tatarstan decided to allocate 120 million rubles for agricultural producers to compensate for damage caused by emergencies.

We invite everyone to take part in the round table on February 13 at 11.00, the venue is the Kazan Expo, conference hall No. 2.
