The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan examined the production of flax in Tatarstan
On January 28, the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Dzhambulat Khatuov held a meeting on flax production. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marcel Makhmutov, the Head of the Department for Development of Agriculture Industries of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan Irek Sadykov, the Head of the "State Sort Commission" for the RT Vitaly Novichkov, the Head of the FSBI "Rosselkhoztsentr" for the Republic of Tatarstan Vagiz Mingazov, director of the FSBI CAC “Tatarsky” Anas Lukmanov, as well as the leaders of organizations cultivating flax in Tatarstan.
Opening the meeting, Jambulat Khatuov emphasized that thanks to state support, the flax growing industry in the country is reviving and showing good dynamics. So, by the State Program for the Development of Agriculture, by 2025, the sown area of flax should increase to almost 60 thousand hectares, which will allow to increase the gross harvest of crops to 52.6 thousand tons, and the volume of production of flax fiber to 42 thousand tons. It is necessary to use high-quality seed and modern technology, observe the technology of growing crops.
On the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, 4 enterprises are engaged in the cultivation of flax on an area of more than 1.5 hectares (Sabylen LLC, Sabinsky District, KFH Mustafin RS, MF Kozlova, KFH Kozlov, A.E. Novosheshminsky District ) A flax mill operates with a processing capacity of 1.5 thousand tons of raw materials per year.
This year, it is planned to maintain the sown area of long flax at the level of last year. There are 135 tons of seeds to sow, 25 tons of which are elite (19%).
The State Register of Breeding Achievements Allowed for Use contains the only variety Belochka, zoned in the Middle Volga (7) region. Today, there are no offers on this seed market. In research organizations of the republic, selection and seed production for long flax is not conducted. The enterprises operate on the varieties Tomsk 17 and Zaryanka. As a result of the meeting, the republic's flax-growing farms were asked to test varieties zoned in neighboring regions.
“I consider it necessary for the regions to show a more active position regarding the use of state support mechanisms, and the scientific community to continue work on the development of domestic selection and seed production. It is important to jointly implement all the tasks set for the industry”, said Dzhambulat Hatuov.
The first deputy minister concluded that the department will continue a systematic analysis of the comprehensive work aimed at developing the flax growing industry, paying particular attention to the need to develop modern technologies for flax cultivation.
