11 September 2019, Wednesday

Since September 14, traditional fall agricultural fairs will start in Tatarstan. This year, 19 sites will be involved in the sale of agricultural products. This was announced at a press conference in the Tatar-inform news agency by the head of the food market development department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the RT Dmitry Yashin. He emphasized that this project has social significance both for citizens and agricultural producers, who can sell their products without intermediaries, and also not pay for a trading place, which significantly reduces the cost of production. In total, representatives of 24 municipalities and 32 organizations of the agro-industrial complex of Tatarstan will take part in agricultural fairs of Kazan.

Representatives of the Rosselkhoznadzor, the Main Directorate of Veterinary Medicine of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Executive Committee of Kazan also took part in the press conference.

Ruslan Fazilyanov, Chairman of the Consumer Market Committee, said that this year the Kazan Executive Committee received a large number of requests from residents of the Salavat Kupere residential complex on the organization of agricultural markets in the microdistrict. “In response to requests from residents, we together with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan will organize a fair in the parking lot of the Raduzhny shopping center,” the speaker added.

Airat Garayev, Deputy Head of the Main Department of Veterinary Medicine, emphasized that only natural dairy products will be presented at agricultural markets, without milk fat substitutes. In addition, the products sold will undergo veterinary control. “Dairy products will be checked right on the spot with the help of special express tests by our experts who will be presented at each site,” added Ayrat Garayev.

“The Rosselkhoznadzor will monitor the veterinary and phytosanitary well-being of products arriving at the fair so that the products are not brought in from quarantine zones,” said Albert Kadyrov, head of the phytosanitary surveillance and grain quality control and seed control department of the RT Rosselkhoznadzor.

“All products will have to come with electronic accompanying documents and each buyer will be able to see all the information about these products using the QR code, for example, where the cattle were raised and on which site,” added the head of the state veterinary supervision department of the Rosselkhoznadzor RT Office Idris Gatin.

At the end of the event, the speakers answered journalists' questions and invited residents of Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny, as well as representatives of the press to visit fairs and purchase natural farm products at affordable prices.
