Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Maxim Uvaydov visited Kazan Agrarian University and the Veterinary Academy

On June 26, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Maxim Uvaydov visited Kazan State Agrarian University and Kazan State Academy of Veterinary Medicine named after N.E. Bauman, where he met with the leadership of universities, representatives of the workforce and students. He was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Oleg Zemskov, the rector of the KSAU Ayrat Valiev, the vice-rector for educational work of the Veterinary Academy Ali Volkov and other officials.

Maxim Uvaydov familiarized himself with the activities of educational institutions, the work of admissions committees, examined classrooms, departments, laboratories, libraries and university museums.

During his visit to Tatarstan, Maxim Uvaydov also held a meeting with agrarian universities of Russia based at KSAU, discussed issues of current activities of agrarian universities subordinated to the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia and prospects for the development of agricultural education and science in the regions. Special attention was paid to the work of universities in terms of the admission company in 2019, issues of targeted recruitment of applicants, the state and development of the material and technical base, scientific and innovative development of agricultural universities.

After the conference call, Maxim Uvaydov visited the Institute of Mechanization and Technical Service, the Agronomy Faculty, the Training and Demonstration Center, the Landscape Design Center and the university laboratories, including the new laboratory complex - the Center for Agri-Environmental Research of the Kazan Agrarian University. The Deputy Minister paid special attention to the living conditions of the students.

Following the visit, Maxim Uvaydov welcomed the work of Tatarstan universities, expressing support for the correctness of the chosen development priorities, and wished further success in their work.
