The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan every week writes about people who live in the countryside and have found their vocation in a simple, but necessary and important work. One of them is Tatyana Portnova, a mother of three children, working as a milkmaid on the Bagaevskaya farm of the Zolotaya Niva agricultural firm in Kaybitsky district.
“Milkmaid Tatyana Mikhailovna has been working for 14 years. Her diligence, responsibility and, of course, her mastery can be noted, that’s why we sent her to represent the milkmaids' team at the competition”, the company said. And she did not let them down. It was impossible to get the first place this time, the rivals were also strong, but she entered the top ten of the best milking operators in the area.
“I have been on a farm since I was 7 years old, I love animals very much. The cow is sacred, you cannot live without it”, Tatyana said. It turned out that her mother, Alexandra Kupriyanova, worked at the farm for 33 years, her daughter from her early childhood fell in love with her mother's work and herself became her replacement.
Tatyana grew up in a large family, there were no frills and excesses in the house, all five children were accustomed to work and appreciated all earned by their parents. It seemed to her that her mother’s warm hands always smell of milk, her work is the best and most important in the village. Tatyana was able to create the same warm, homely atmosphere in which she grew up in her own family. Her two daughters, the eldest of whom is 10 years old, and an eight-year-old son, live in love and care, help their mother, and she does everything for them to make their childhood joyful.
“Now is the time for big milk, I want to get high milk yields so that by the end of the year there will be a good result, that much depends on the shepherds here. “As they feed the flock, we will feed it,” said the interlocutor.
The work, no matter how difficult it is, brings Tatiana Mikhailovna joy and satisfaction. The love of the profession overcomes the difficulties. The results of her work are evidenced by the fact that, following the results of work over the past year, she was repeatedly awarded certificates, received cash prizes and valuable prizes: a TV, two washing machines and other gifts. She hopes that this year will also be successful for her.
Working on the farm, raising children takes, of course, a lot of time. With her husband, they keep a cow, calf, piglets, chickens. Their garden supports the family. “Food’s tastier from your garden, and villagers are used to this way of life,” says Tatyana Portnova.
