Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan is exploring the possibilities of cooperation with Iran
On April 24, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov met with a delegation from Iran led by the chairman of one of the largest Iranian companies Daric Investment Group Mohammad Reza Zonuzi Motlag. Also, other officials of the company and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in the official meeting.
During the meeting, Marat Akhmetov spoke about the potential of the agro-industrial complex of Tatarstan and possible areas for cooperation. “The Republic of Tatarstan is a large agrarian subject of Russia with large volumes of milk production. 7% of the total amount of milk produced in Russia is produced by our republic. It is important for us to export this product to the countries of the Islamic world, ”he noted.
During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation between Tatarstan and Iran on the construction of an agro-industrial park in Tatarstan, goat breeding and fish farming.
“We are open and interested in cooperation with you. The Ministry is ready to show and tell about any site in the republic that you are interested in, to make a balanced and deliberate decision, ”said Marat Akhmetov at the end of the event.
On April 25, the Iranian delegation plans to participate in the international Russia-Islamic World: KazanSummit 2019 summit, held in Kazan from April 24 to 26, as well as they plan to have a meeting with President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
