The ministry considered the production of brewing barley in the republic
On April 4, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan held a meeting with Deputy Minister Ildus Gabdrakhmanov and representatives of the brewing company EFES CJSC.
During the meeting, the parties considered the possibilities of growing brewing barley in the Republic of Tatarstan by the international agricultural program “AB InBev Efes”. Representatives of the brewing company spoke about the goals and objectives of this program, the conditions for the implementation of brewing barley, shared foreign and Russian experience in the cultivation of this culture. The company this year has already signed contracts with agricultural enterprises for the purchase of 9 thousand tons of malting barley, it is planned to increase supplies to 60 thousand tons.
“Providing the EFES brewery in the republic with raw materials of its own production is a promising direction for mutually beneficial cooperation,” the deputy minister noted, “we are ready to work on this.”
