Today a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan was held. The event was attended by President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counselor of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexei Pesoshin, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin, Chairman of the Council of Municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan Ekzam Gubaidullin, heads of ministries and departments of the republic, heads of municipal districts, heads of regional agriculture and food departments, heads of agricultural enterprises, etc.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov made a report on the results of the work of the agro-industrial complex for 2018 and put the tasks for the current year.

Marat Akhmetov noted in his report that the gross output of the agro-industrial complex of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2018 amounted to about 376 billion rubles, or 13.3% of the gross regional product (GRP). Including the food industry - is 160 billion rubles, agriculture - 216 billion rubles.

“We are the best in the Volga Federal District-wide in terms of gross agricultural output. At 10% of farmland, we have twice its products. But in the country, we had to cede our leadership in the top three to the Belgorod region”, he specified.

Speaking about the state of the agricultural producers’ economics, he noted that price and climatic factors have a significant influence on the efficiency of agricultural production. This seriously holds back our financial results. “The monetary revenue in 2018 exceeded 100 billion rubles, the profit - about 8 billion rubles and profitability - 9.5%  is at the same level as last year” said Marat Akhmetov.

At the same time, he said that the share of profitable agricultural enterprises is about 93%, and this is including the state support.

The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan noted that there is a number of high-tech projects implemented in the republic. “It is encouraging that even in the financially difficult 2018, 8 new large dairy complexes for 8 thousand heads started their work. Considerable work has been done on the overhaul, and in current year there are 23 highly efficient livestock facilities in the process of implementation. ”

Marat Akhmetov reminded that the republic had a problem of its own milk processing base. But in 2018 two new milk processing enterprises started their functioning in the Vysokogorsky district. There is also an active work on its processing through grants given to cooperatives.

“The further increase of agricultural production’s volume is connected with the solution of export tasks,” the minister said during the board meeting. “By the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, by 2024 we need to double the export of agricultural products in Tatarstan from the current 180 to 360 million dollars.”

Among enterprises exporting agricultural products and foodstuffs, he named such companies as the Nefis Group, Essen Production, Tatspirtprom, Tatkrahmalpatoka, Zainsky Sakhar, Akulchev, Chelny-Kholod.

Marat Akhmetov expressed his wish to take the export direction into development to large milk processors in the region - Kazan Dairy Plant, Azbuka Cheese, Zelenodolsk Dairy Plant, Agrosila Milk.

At the end of the event, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov and all those who participated in the preparation of today's final board of the department and the organization of the exhibition of agricultural producers.

The President of Tatarstan briefly focused on some significant moments in the sphere of the agro-industrial complex of the republic, which were already outlined in the main report by the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.

“The sowing campaign is ahead, and every day is a loss of moisture, and therefore a loss of grain,” said Rustam Minnikhanov. - We need to complete the repair of agricultural equipment, prepare sowing materials and the main task is to accumulate the necessary amount of mineral fertilizers. Marat Akhmetov raises this topic again and again. There is a big difference between areas in the accumulated amounts of fertilizers. And without it, work will be ineffective. Today the task is to reach 70 kg of active ingredient per hectare. ”

‘We understand that without money it is difficult to carry out high-quality spring field work.’ At the same time, he stressed that the subsidies that exist in the republic, as well as federal subsidies, have been already received by agricultural producers. “But we must actively work with partners, with banks — to attract funds,” said Rustam Minnikhanov.

One of the main issues is to ensure the sowing campaign with high-quality fuel at a reduced price, the President of Tatarstan said.

“Since 2010, our large enterprises - these are the groups of companies“ Tatneft ”and“ TAIF ”- have already supplied 1 million 200 thousand tons of fuel. If we did not have our own refining, production of diesel fuel, gasoline, then our business would be worse. Let's thank the fuel suppliers”, Rustam Minnikhanov reminded.

He also raised the issue of agricultural efficiency. “Everyone needs to work for the result. Intensify the work in terms of consumer cooperation, the volume of procurement of personal farmsteads - here we need to be more efficient. This is a huge potential that we must use and maintain. ”

According to Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan has a “horse” - halal products. “Today we are a major producer of agricultural products. We could take advantage of this competitive advantage.

At the end of the meeting, an award ceremony was held for distinguished representatives of the agricultural industry.
