Cooperation between science and agricultural producers can lead the republic to a completely new level of development

On January 30, a delegation of Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Republic of Tatarstan headed by Marat Akhmetov visited the research laboratories of Kazan University to identify potential partnership projects between the university and the ministry.

The rector of KFU Ilshat Gafurov demonstrated the capabilities of the laboratory of Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology. Scientific and Educational Center of Pharmacy and research units of Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology function on the territory of interdisciplinary scientific complex located on the street Paris Commune, 9. In particular, genomic, proteomic and metabolic studies are conducted at the center.

“Our university is too large to show everything in two hours. But we managed to identify themes which both sides are interested in. Ilshat Gafurov accented during the meeting that the university wants to find out points of contact, cooperation that will be useful to society”.

It is important to note that besides the minister, deputies and heads of relevant subordinate organizations and educational institutions took part in the round-up and the subsequent meeting. All of them will form working groups of future projects. In general, they can be divided into two courses: land use and livestock.

“We have planned to talk this way for long. Onward we need to create two groups: in soil science and in animal husbandry, genetics and breeding. They should agree on the subsequent target interaction today. This meeting is interesting from the point of view of development of the university, sharing of experience. Both of our universities have a good history” said Marat Akhmetov.

Without a doubt, cooperation between science and agricultural producers can lead the republic to a completely new level of development.
