A zonal session devoted to “Milk production. Feeding peculiarities of high-producing cows in the current year” took place in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan today. The following officials participated in it: Deputy Ministers of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nikolai Titov, Nazip Khazipov, Rishat Khabipov, Talgat Tagirzyanov, specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chief Directorate for Veterinary of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chief State Agricultural Directorate for Pedigree Cattle Breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, chiefs of local directorates for agriculture and food, heads of Tatarstan farm households and enterprises.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nikolai Titov opened the session. “Livestock wintering has started, so it is high time to get ready for hard work in the sphere of cattle breeding, - he noted. – As of today, the situation is not very favourable for agricultural producers on the market of grain and sugar. That is why those who are engaged in cattle breeding have an advantage. Now we must run technological processes correctly and provide a positive dynamics in cattle breeding production”.
.Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nazip Khazipov reported on cattle breeding records for 9 months of 2017. He said that as of October 1, 2017, the livestock population in agricultural enterprises of the republic had reached 736,000 animals, including 244,000 cows, 974,000 tons of milk had been produced (105% compared with the previous year level), 284,000 tons of meat and poultry had been produced (102%). “The records have positive dynamics. Nevertheless, they could be even better compared with the previous year records”, - said Deputy Minister.
A great gain in milk production was shown in Atnya (117%), Kukmor (113%), Rybnaya Sloboda (110%), Tylyachi (109%) and Vysokaya Gora (108%) municipal districts.
According to Deputy Minister’s words, the average milk yield was 4,200 kg per cow for 9 months of 2017. In the Russian Federation the figure is 4,455 kg per cow, in Volga Federal District it was 4,321 kg.
Nazip Khazipov spoke in detail about the issues of livestock feeding during wintering. In his speech, he mentioned OOO “Korsinskiy MTS” in Arsk municipal district. Farmers from the enterprise stopped feeding on September 5, 2017, when the average daily milk yield was 13.7 kg per cow. As of October 10, 2017, the productivity had increased up to 14.5 kg. The situation had improved owing to inclusion of presscake, corn, peas, oat, molasses into the diet of animals.
Agriculturalists from OOO “Tsilna” in Drozhzhanoe municipal district experienced the importance of cattle feeding firsthand. This year they have made a 2-year reserve of rough and succulent feed, 250,000 tons of grain, including 100 tons of peas for all-mash production, purchased 150 tons of corn. They also have feed chalk, salt, MCP, zeolite, BMC, saltlick for calves, energy cocktails for newly-calved cows, etc.
Deputy Minister also noted the importance of investing into facilities and equipment of milk cattle breeding. For example, a 1,100-cow complex of yard housing with “Carousel” milking system was put into exploitation in OOO “Samil” in Baltasi municipal district. Before that, in October 2015 the gross milk yield was 7.6 tons, while this year the figure is 12.3 tons. The average milk yield per cow was 14.5 kg, while now it is 22 kg.
Head of the Chief State Agricultural Directorate for Pedigree Cattle Breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Rishat Khabipov and Director Deputy of the Chief Directorate for Veterinary of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan Airat Garaev also gave speeshes at the session. Rishat Zaripov informed the participants about the results of selective-brood work while Airat Garaev spoke on epizootic situation in Volga Federal District.
