Today horse races confined to the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan and Kazan City Day took place at “Kazan” equestrian track. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin, Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov and other officials visited the races.
A lot of guests came to watch the races. There were plenty of interesting sites: one could take a horse ride on the race track, listen to the orchestra, see mime artists riding bicycles, take pictures in a special photo zone, etc. There also was special space for children with entertainers making interesting models with balloons and making up. A friendly Mexican wearing a huge hat welcomed the guests at the entrance to the equestrian sport complex.
The horse races included 12 heats. The total prize fund amounted to about 7.5 million rubles. The most spectacular ride was the one for the main prize of the horse races, namely, the prize of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan. At a 2,400 m heat 9 horsemen riding thoroughbreds aged over 3 years old competed with each other. World class horse jockey Khamzat Ulubaev, riding a bay horse named Bashlam, became the winner. He got the prize money of 3 million rubles.
The guests got also interested in Wathba Stud Farm Cup ride with the prize of 5,000 euros and HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Apprentice World Championship IFAHR ride with the prize of 20,000 euros. The 1st class horse jockey Firzar Giniyatullin with his horse named Iman became the winner in the first ride, while Andrew Ivanov with his bay horse named Batenisa became the winner in the 2ndone.
Khamzat Ulubaev with his horse named Bandik won the prize of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. There were also competitions for the prizes of the Federation of Horse Breeding and Equestrian Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan City Government, “Tatarstan Lady”, “Kazan Pot”, etc.
