Harvesting campaign is gaining pace in Russia. It is worth reminding that farmers received the record grain yield of 120.7 million tons in 2016.

“This year harvesting in the south of the country started 2 weeks later than usual due to the weather conditions, sowing in a number of constituent entities also started later due to freezing weather and rains. However, according to the data of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the gross grain yield is expected to be 100-105 million tons. Thus, grains will be enough both for provision with food and fodder”, - said Renat Suleimanov, director deputy at the department of foodstuff market development in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Thus, Russia starts a new agricultural year with the record grain reserves: 18-19 million tons. “The country could break its last year record in grain export. According to the data of the Institute of agricultural market condition, the export of grain could reach 37.5-39.5 million tons, - said Renat Suleimanov. – In its turn, preparation for harvesting is gaining pace in Tatarstan. Simultaneously, distribution of grain of harvest 2016 keeps going on. Every day we analyze the situation in constituent entities of Russia and we can state that, as of today, the prices are quite stable”.
