10 July 2017, Monday

An international conference on development of organic agriculture in Russia and all over the world was held within the framework of “All-Russia Day of Field – 2017” forum. Representatives of Tatarstan, Mordovia, Yaroslavl and Kaluga Regions, Germany, Kazakhstan, Belorussia and Lithuania gave speeches at the conference and shared their experience of organic production.

During the discussion, it was noted that organic agriculture is developing in 179 countries. One of characteristic features of this kind of agriculture is exclusion of mineral fertilizers, synthetic herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and other pesticides, synthetic growth-regulation chemicals and feeding-regulation chemicals, as well as antibiotics, hormone drugs, conserving agents, GMO and products manufactured with GMO. The basic deterrents to development of organic agriculture are the absence of national system of certification and control similar to the international one, as well as the absence of state supportive programs, skilled specialists and poor awareness of population about organic production.
