Marat Akhmetov: positive records in Tatarstan cattle breeding for the 1st quarter of 2017

In the nearest future field work will start in the Republic of Tatarstan. First of all, top-dressing of winter crops and perennial grasses will be carried out. It has begun on the fields of Buinsk, Zainsk, Apastovo, Alkeevo, Sarmanovo, Novosheshminsk, and Muslyumovo municipal districts.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov reported on that at a republican session in the House of Government of the Republic of Tatarstan today.

The videoconferencing session with all municipal districts was held by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustram Minnikhanov. Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin also took part in the session.

Marat Akhmetov informed that in recent years highly productive pneumatic mechanisms had been used for top-dressing, over 100 such pneumatic mechanisms would be exploited in the republic. Beside this, 30 planes would be also used.

Minister of Agriulture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan spoke in details about the records of cattle breeding for the 1stquarter of 2017. “Production records of Tatarstan cattle breeding for the 1st quarter of 2017 are positive”,- he said.

Thus, in the 1st quarter of 2017, 93,700 tons of cattle and poultry were produced in the republic, including 24,500 tons of livestock (a 2% increase), and 20,100 tons of pigs.

299,600 tons of milk were also produced in the 1st quarter of 2017 (a 4% increase). 270,700 tons of milk were sold. 225.5 million eggs were produced (a 7% increase).

As of April 1, 2017, the population of cattle and poultry was 748,400 animals, including 248,900 cows, 420,000 pigs, 63,600 sheep and goats, 14.4 million birds.

“The population of cattle and poultry is constantly being monitored, - said Marat Akhmetov. – There is an increase of 6,000 animals in livestock population, the cow population has been preserved. There is an increase of 1% in pig population and an 11% increase in sheep and goat population. 23 municipal districts could gain livestock population, but there is a decrease in 8 districts. The biggest increase is in Kukmor, Buinsk and Baltasi municipal districts”.

The minister also reported on the production output of milk in agricultural enterprises of Tatarstan districts.

The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, in his turn, noted that spring field work should be carried out effectively.
