New laboratory building of the FSBI “Tatar interregional veterinary laboratory” was opened in Kazan

The ceremonial opening of a new laboratory building of the FSBI “Tatar interregional veterinary laboratory” took place in Kazan today.

The following officials took part in the forum: Director Deputy at the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Svetlana Alekseeva, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov, Chief at the Directorate of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance of the Republic of Tatarstan Nurislam Khabipov, head of the Chief Directorate for Veterinary of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan Almaz Khisamutdinov, Director at the FSBI “Tatar Interregional Veterinary Laboratory” Rais Karimov.

The new laboratory building was built last year. Owing to this, it will be able to find out GM agricultural foods. Beside this, the stuff number will be increased and the workforce productivity will reach up to 100 researches per shift, the biological safety level will be improved, new activities will be developed among which there will be whole-genome sequencing.

Within the framework of the forum, it was mentioned that putting into operation of the new laboratory building would enable to create a center on research in the sphere of molecular-genetic diagnostics and would big-up the status of the FSBI “Tatar interregional veterinary laboratory” in Volga Federal District.

After that, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov and other participants of the ceremony snipped the ribbon and examined the premises.
