Implementation of the pilot project on bio-waste collection and recycling in Tatarstan discussed in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan

A session devoted to the issues of implementation of the pilot project on bio-waste collection and recycling in Tatarstan took place in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan today.

The following officials took part in the session: Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan – Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov, Head at the Chief Directorate for Veterinary of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan Almaz Khisamutdinov, heads of municipal districts of the Republic of Tatarstan, representatives of ministries and authorities of the republic, etc.

In 2014 a pilot project was started on bio-waste collection and its recycling at OOO “Sariya Bio Industries Volga” plant in Saby municipal district. 2 containers with freezing equipment were constructed and special vehicles for collection of bio-waste were purchased.

Within 2 years of the project implementation 347 tons of bio-waste have been collected.

Owing the project implementation epizootic and ecological situation in Saby municipal district has been improved.

Within the session the following issues were also discussed: implementation of similar projects on the territories of other Tatarstan districts, purchasing of vehicles for bio-waste collection, transport costs, etc.

Marat Akhmetov summed up: “It is necessary to find the best way how to recycle bio-waste”.
