A new pea variety named “Rakul” was passed to the state variety testing. It was created by the FSBSI “Tatar Science and Research Institute for Agriculture” and the FSBSI “Ulyanovsk Science and Research Institute for Agriculture”.
“Rakul” has advantages over standard varieties in terms of the crop yield (+0.7 tons/ha) and the protein content (+1.6%). The variety is mid-season, highly resistible to lodging, seeds are large (the average weight of 1,000 seeds is 276 grams). “Rakul” meets premium pea varieties.
