Preliminary results of All-Russia agricultural census 2016 in the Republic of Tatarstan

From July 1 to August 15 2016, All-Russia agricultural census 2016 was held. Within 46 days, a census of over 484,000 venues were taken in the Republic of Tatarstan, including about 406,000 households in the rural area (84%) and 42,800 in the urban area (9%). A census of 1,382 horticultural societies and non-commercial associations, 752 agricultural organizations and 3,326 peasant farm enterprises and sole proprietorships was taken.

85% of agricultural enterprises, 83% of farm households and sole proprietorships, over 90% of personal subsidiary plots and other private households are engaged in production.

The previuos census had been held in 2006. Within 10 years the production structure in agriculture has been changed. The share of agricultural organizations has decreased (from 48.7% in 2006 to 46.2% in 2015), the share of peasant farm enterprises has increased (from 4.8% to 7.5%). The share of private households has almost stayed on the same level (from 46.5% to 46.3%).
