775,000 ha have been thrashed in Tatarstan

In the Republic of Tatarstan by August 16,2014 775,00 ha have been thrashed, which is 48% of the total harvesting area. The data were reported by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov at the session in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The session was held by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov as a videoconference with all municipal districts of the republic. Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin also took part in the session.

Marat Akhmetov reported that the gross crop yield is 1,680,000 tons, including 554,800 tons of winter wheat. The average crop yield is 22.3 dt/ha where winter wheat yield is 23.6 dt/ha.

He also reported on the harvesting campaign and its results in different districts of the republic.

He noted that winter wheat harvesting, pea harvesting and barley harvesting is going to finish in districts of the republic.

Marat Akhmetov stated that some farm household contributed a lot into good winter crops harvest this year.

The minister reminded that it was the high time for winter crops sowing and noted that a special training seminar devoted to that issue had been held. Marat Akhmetov stated that the aim was to sow 40% of the total area with winter crops.

The minister asked to pay special attention to the soil cultivation. He said that in total 2 million ha was to be cultivated.
