Development of Rural Settlements

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation appointed members of the interagency working group on sustainable development of the rural territories of the Russian Federation. Among the members of the group are representatives of federal executive authorities as well as of public and scientific organizations.

At the first session of the working group it is planned to discuss the strategy in details. It will be designed so as to improve the demographic situation and to increase the employment rate among rural population, taking into account the location of production special planning; it will promote the social infrastructure development, ensuring service availability of healthcare organizations, educational organizations, culture and social service organizations.

It is also planned to develop the engineer infrastructure, to carry out the accelerated gas infrastructure development in rural settlements, to provide more villagers with the communication service, to support cooperative farms, to develop retail network and utilities services network in villages. According to the web portal of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, special attention will be paid to staff training, personnel development and continuing education, as well as encouraging of graduates from higher educational institutions to work in villages.
