The development of horse breeding in the Republic of Tatarstan was discussed at the Kazan Hippodrome.

Today, the Tatarstan Horse Breeding Federation held its annual conference at the Kazan Hippodrome. It was chaired by Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. Also attending were Giyaz Idiyatullin, Director of the Kazan Hippodrome; Svetlana Kappusheva, Executive Director of the Tatarstan Horse Breeding Federation; Gelyus Bayazitov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan; and horse owners who are members of the Tatarstan Horse Breeding Federation.

Welcoming the conference participants, Marat Zyabbarov noted that, in accordance with the instructions of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, to increase the horse population in Tatarstan, a five-year program for the development of horse breeding and equestrian sports has been developed, covering the period from 2027 to 2031.

Gelus Bayazitov described the subsidy programs aimed at providing support: subsidies for the purchase of commercial breeding stock, subsidies for each increase in the horse population, subsidies for the construction and major repairs of stables, paddocks, and road construction on farm property, subsidies for the purchase of milking machines and dairy equipment for kumys production, subsidies for the purchase of veterinary equipment, and the creation of a center for the development of national games and culture and a breeding center.

Giyaz Idiyatullin summarized the year's results and noted: "In 2025, 46 racing days were held, including 30 race days, 217 group races, 57 traditional trotting prizes, 75 group races, and 57 traditional racing prizes were awarded. A prize fund of over 81 million rubles was awarded, including over 50 million rubles for races. 623 horses were tested, including 374 trotters and 249 racehorses."

He emphasized that the Kazan Hippodrome's goal is the comprehensive development of the hippodrome as a center for testing, breeding, entertainment, and professional education.

At the end of the conference, Marat Zyabbarov awarded the best owner-members of the Equestrian Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan and presented them with letters of gratitude.
