Today, the Ministry held a meeting of the Republican Headquarters for the Prevention of the Entry and Spread of Contagious Animal Diseases, Including Particularly Dangerous Animal Diseases, in the Republic of Tatarstan. The meeting was chaired by Lenar Garipov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Participating via videoconference were heads of municipal departments of agriculture and food, heads of state veterinary associations of cities and districts, heads of rural settlements, heads of pig and poultry farms and enterprises, and entrepreneurs.

"Due to the significant deterioration of the infectious animal disease situation in the Russian Federation, today we are holding an extraordinary meeting of the Republican Headquarters for the Prevention of Particularly Dangerous Animal Diseases," noted Lenar Garipov.

The First Deputy Minister urged the heads of agricultural enterprises and owners of private farms to ensure and strictly adhere to veterinary and sanitary standards for animal welfare, establish closed housing, ensure biological protection, disinfect vehicles, and organize sanitary checkpoints. They should also monitor all persons visiting livestock facilities.

"The heads of municipalities must organize a temporary holding (quarantine) area for animals at least 5 kilometers away from livestock facilities," the First Deputy Minister emphasized.

Timur Galeev, Head of the Main Veterinary Department of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan, spoke about the epizootic situation in the Russian Federation and measures to prevent the introduction and spread of particularly dangerous and contagious animal diseases. Such diseases pose a significant risk to the republic's economy, as they cause serious material damage to businesses and farms.

Ilnur Galeev, Head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance for the Republic of Tatarstan, spoke about measures being taken to biologically protect enterprises from the introduction of particularly dangerous and contagious animal diseases.

Finally, Lenar Garipov also ordered a temporary ban on the import of all types of ungulates from other regions of the Russian Federation into the republic until further notice, with the exception of breeding animals or after approval from the Main Veterinary Directorate of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan.
