Grain harvesting in Tatarstan has entered its final stage. Approximately 40,000 hectares remain to be threshed. This was announced today at a meeting in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov.

Rustam Minnikhanov chaired the meeting, with all districts of Tatarstan connected via videoconference.

Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin and Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin participated in the meeting.

In total, 1,188,000 hectares, or 97% of the total area, have been threshed in the republic. 4.5 million tons of grain have been threshed, with an average yield of 38 centners per hectare.

Of the grain crops, 44,000 hectares of corn remain to be harvested.

Grain harvesting has already been completed in 13 districts, and another 10 districts will complete the harvest in the coming days.

Of the oilseed crops, rapeseed harvesting continues. To date, 117,000 hectares, or 74% of the total area, have been threshed.

In addition, sunflower and soybean harvesting has begun. The area is significant, with another 340,000 hectares remaining to be harvested.

Potato and sugar beet digging and vegetable harvesting are also underway. To date, potatoes have been dug on 2,500 hectares, 45% of the planned yield, with an average yield of 306 centners per hectare.

Vegetables have been harvested on 530 hectares, with a yield of 192 centners per hectare.

Soybeans are one of the promising crops for the republic. The head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan recalled that a national meeting on soybean cultivation was held at the Tatar Research Institute on September 10. In 2023, the soybean area was only 8,000 hectares, while this year, 62,000 hectares have been sown.

Sugar beets have been dug up on an area of ​​13,500 hectares, yielding 624,000 tons, with an average yield of 463 centners per hectare. Sugar factories have harvested 268,000 tons, processed 218,000 tons of raw material, and produced 26,000 tons of sugar.

Winter crop sowing is nearing completion, having been completed on an area of ​​450,000 hectares out of the planned 500,000 hectares.

Marat Zyabbarov reported that, according to weather forecasters, significant precipitation is expected starting next week. He urged that every effort be made to harvest the crop.

As for forage harvesting, 27.4 centners of forage per head of corn have been harvested across the republic to date, which is 69% of the planned volume.

The silage corn harvest continues. Of the 125,000 hectares of land, 28,800 hectares have been harvested, or 23% of the planned volume. 963,000 tons of silage have been harvested. Corn harvesting for silage is progressing well in the Mamadyshsky, Baltasinsky, Menzelinsky, and Buinsky districts.

A total of approximately 4 million tons of silage are planned.

The minister called on the heads of agricultural enterprises to organize a two-shift work schedule for forage harvesting and complete the forage harvesting as quickly as possible.

Marat Zyabbarov announced that traditional agricultural fairs resumed in the republic on September 13. They are held at 14 sites in Kazan, two in Naberezhnye Chelny and the Zelenodolsk district, three in the Nizhnekamsk district, and with varying frequency in municipal districts.

By the end of the first week of the fairs, agricultural products worth a total of 80 million rubles had been delivered. This included 472 tons of vegetables, 19 tons of bulk milk, 35 tons of sugar, 161,000 chicken eggs, and 68 tons of meat. A total of 960 vehicles were used to conduct the fairs.

The minister expressed gratitude to municipalities, processing plants, agricultural enterprises, and cooperatives for their active participation in ensuring the range and quality of products for the fairs.
