The International Forum "Kazan Digital Week - 2025" will be held in the Republic of Tatarstan from September 17 to 19, 2025. In anticipation of the forum, a webinar "Digital Transformation of the Agricultural Sector" was held on key trends in the digitalization of the agro-industrial complex with the participation of the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Lenar Garipov.
The event brought together leading industry experts to discuss current issues in the digitalization of the agro-industrial complex. During the online discussion, the participants considered key areas of digital transformation, including the introduction of artificial intelligence and automation systems, the experience of implementing pilot projects in meteorological monitoring, and digital solutions for precision farming and livestock farming.
According to Lenar Garipov, the Republic of Tatarstan occupies a leading position in the rating of digital transformation of the agro-industrial complex of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.
He cited as an example the enterprises of the republic that successfully implemented pilot projects on the introduction of artificial intelligence systems in animal husbandry. "One of them implemented a system of intelligent control of the milking process, which provides real-time monitoring and automatic detection of violations of technological regulations. The system instantly notifies the operator and management of any deviations. The expected effectiveness of the system is to improve the health of animals by 50%, thanks to the early detection and timely treatment of mastitis in cows," said Lenar Garipov.
According to him, another farm has implemented a system for analyzing the condition of animals based on visual identification. It allows automatic detection of lameness at early stages and assessment of the fatness of cattle, ensuring continuous monitoring of the herd. Even minor changes in the gait and appearance of animals that go unnoticed by humans are recorded, which allows to significantly reduce the cost of treatment and reduce the culling of animals.
Lenar Garipov emphasized that one of the key areas is the creation of the country's largest network of weather stations with 102 stations. The first stage of software development has been completed, and agronomists have gained access to operational weather data, which increases the accuracy of forecasts and minimizes the risks associated with adverse weather conditions.
The Republic of Tatarstan demonstrates successful results in the field of digital transformation of the agro-industrial complex. Continuation of these initiatives will not only maintain the achieved positions, but also reach new levels of development of the republic's agricultural sector.
You can continue the discussion of the topic of digital transformation of the agro-industrial complex at the Kazan Digital Week - 2025 site in Kazan, which will be held on September 17-19 at the Kazan Expo exhibition center.
