Mandatory labeling of ice cream started in Russia on June 1, 2021. During the year, Tatarstan became one of the leaders in the production of "honest" products in Russia and the leader in the Volga Federal District.
Moscow occupied the first place in the production of ice cream, the Moscow region was second, the Krasnodar Territory was third, the Republic of Tatarstan was fourth, and the Nizhny Novgorod region was fifth.
The region accounts for 5.5 percent of ice cream produced in Russia. In total, there are 2 enterprises producing this category of dairy products in Tatarstan: Chelny Kholod, Slavitsa Ice Cream Factory.
The region has taken a leading position in product labeling due to the intensive work of local enterprises and turnover participants. All ice cream producers in Tatarstan introduced the use of mandatory identification tools within the established time frame.
