Rural tourism: How the kingdom of ostriches appeared in the Alekseevsky district

Rural tourism in Tatarstan is gaining momentum. More and more travelers after the outbreak of the pandemic, instead of going abroad, prefer to explore their region. So, a family of farmers Zinnatullins from the village of Bilyarsk, Alekseevsky district, decided that the key is a place of pilgrimage for tourists and decided to build a farm with exotic animals.

Aidar and Natalia Zinnatullina started their farming business with growing grain in the summer and producing mushrooms in the winter. In 2019, they received a grant from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan under the federal program "Agrostartup" within the National Project "Small and Medium-sized Businesses and Support for Individual Entrepreneurial Initiatives" in the amount of 3 million rubles.

Energy and ingenuity allowed them to start a new direction last summer – rural tourism.

"The farm has all kinds of ostriches, as well as chickens and goats. There are a lot of other animals. We have the same Australian and African ostriches as abroad, " says the head of the farm Aidar Zinnatullin.

Today, the farm contains Chinese chickens, three African and two Australian ostriches, pheasants, ornamental sheep and other exotic animals.

Creating an ostrich farm was a family dream. Before bringing the strange birds from the Samara region, the farmers studied poultry farming in detail, traveled to the ostrich farms of the republic. Children help take care of the animals. The flow of tourists especially increased in the past May holidays.

"The pandemic has begun. People have stopped traveling abroad, they leave the city to relax outdoors. The animals are interesting, and it is a special pleasure to visit them. You can feed an ostrich or play with a small goat. Children are very amazed, " the head of the farm shares his impressions.

Bilyarsk is still the center of attraction for tourists. Therefore, to create conditions for travelers, to introduce them to exotic animals, and just to give them an opportunity to relax from the hustle and bustle of the city – a very good and already implemented idea.
