Wholesale and retail prices for this product remain unchanged from the beginning of the year. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan is working to provide state support to the main producers of sugar.

According to the data of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, 49 thousand hectares of sugar beet were sown in Tatarstan last year, and about 54 thousand hectares are planned to be sown this year. As of today, more than 51 thousand hectares have already been sown.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the quota for sugar imports with a reduced duty rate, as well as the expansion of the acreage under sugar beet (by almost 15% to 1.06 million hectares) will contribute to the further preservation of stable sugar prices. With this, beet production this year will be at least 40 million tons, which will produce about 6 million tons of sugar. This volume will be sufficient to meet the needs of the domestic market and formation of rolling stocks.
