Every week we write about people who, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, develop their business in rural areas, family farms and young entrepreneurs. One of these is Samat Valiullin from Novosheshminsky district.

In 2018, he received a 3 million rubles grant from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan under the Beginner Farmer program.

“Until 2018, I lived and worked in Nizhnekamsk, and often visited my parents in the village. That time my father-in-law was engaged in farming, I helped him and got interested myself. Together with my wife, we made a business project, and won a grant”, the farmer recalls.

It was not easy for the farmers at first. But thanks to the help and support of relatives and his dedication, things went well.

“We grow perennial grasses on 35 hectares of land. We bought share plots from fellow villagers, built a farm, bought young cattle of the Simmental breed, MTZ-82 tractor, KamAZ, attachments (mower, tedder, baler), as well as a mill and a large refrigerator, ”says Samat Valiullin.

The farm is surrounded by a good fence. There are also summer kards, a storage room and a house for livestock breeders. Since the beginning of this year, farmers have reached full production capacity. Today the farm has over 50 heads of cattle for fattening. One of these days has brought in another batch of calves. Enough hay has been procured, and grain fodder is bought from local farmers.

The farm employs a tractor driver and two livestock breeders. And Samat himself, when necessary, drives a tractor. The family - the eldest son and wife - also helps to cope with the household.

“I do not regret that I chose the village over the city. After all, I was born and raised in a village, I know rural labor. I am grateful to the leadership of the republic and the region for the help and support of novice farmers. There is no need to be afraid to start your own business. You can live well and earn money in the countryside, ”says Samat Valiullin.

In the future, the farmer is thinking to expand the production of cattle and the sale of breeding heifers. Also he plans the cultivation of grain crops.
