Today is the International Day of Rural Women. This is not a very well-known, but an important holiday, aimed to remind the society how much it owes to women in the countryside and how valuable their work is. Rural women make up over a quarter of the world's population. They work in fields, livestock farms, processing plants, raise children, passing on traditional values from generation to generation. And remembering the years of the Great Patriotic War, we can safely say that all agriculture and food security was on the shoulders of rural women.
It is gratifying that in Tatarstan the labor of women in the countryside is valued and great attention is paid to supporting motherhood and childhood. For example, for rural women, a shorter working day (1 hour less and no more than 36 hours per week) is legally established. Rural mothers additionally receive 50 thousand rubles from the state at the birth of the first child under the age of 25 and 100 thousand rubles at the birth of the third and each subsequent child under the age of 29. Payments are provided to residents of rural areas and urban-type settlements.
As of October 15, 2020, a lump sum payment this year has already been received by 1,584 residents of the villages of Tatarstan who gave birth to their first child, and 344 women in whose families a third and subsequent child was born. Since the beginning of this program in the Republic of Tatarstan, 5201 rural women have received payments on the occasion of the birth of their first child and 1050 rural women - with the birth of their third child.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan respects the work of rural women and congratulates all the village workers, mothers and grandmothers on the holiday!
