On August 28, the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev made a working trip to the Kaluga Region, where he held a meeting with the participation of representatives of the Federation Council, regions and major producers dedicated to the development of deep processing of grain in Russia. The event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov.

The event took place on the territory of the enterprise for deep processing of wheat "Biotechnological complex Rosva". The innovative high-tech complex specializes in the production of ingredients for the food industry and feed, producing about 100 thousand tons of finished products per year. According to Dmitry Patrushev, today in the Kaluga Region, considerable attention is paid to the formation of a strong agro-industrial complex and its high-tech sub-sectors, including deep processing.

During the meeting, the Minister said that areas that allow to obtain products with high added value are under increased attention. “Therefore, we see the potential in the development of deep grain processing on the territory of the Russian Federation. In addition to the obvious economic benefits, a strong grain processing industry will contribute to import substitution, ”the head of the Ministry of Agriculture stressed, noting that the use of such products is not limited solely to the food industry - it is also used in pharmaceuticals, oil and gas industry and other sectors.

The Minister referred to the problematic issues as the lack of appropriate modern technologies, as well as the capital intensity of opening new industries. To level them, systematic support for the development of the industry is required. “I would like to point out that the Long-Term Strategy for the Development of the Grain Complex of the Russian Federation provides for the attraction of total investments in the creation of deep processing capacities in the amount of 150 billion rubles. This will also allow to increase the volume of production of the corresponding products, ”said Dmitry Patrushev.

At present, enterprises for deep processing of grain have already been introduced in Russia in the Southern, Volga, Ural and Central federal districts. Projects are being implemented and planned for implementation in the Lipetsk, Volgograd, Saratov regions, the Republic of Bashkortostan, in the Krasnoyarsk and Primorsky Territories, as well as in other regions. The meeting was attended by both representatives of the regions with already operating enterprises in this area, and the subjects on the territory of which similar projects are being worked out. The participants discussed the prospects for the development of this area, as well as measures of state support for processors.

At the end of the event, Dmitry Patrushev called on to competently organize work on the ground and stressed that the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia will continue to provide all possible support to manufacturers, including in the search for new sales markets, consulting and improving the regulatory base.
