A farmer from Yelabuga grows tomatoes weighing 1 kg!

A healthy diet is a key to normal human activity. Therefore, more and more people are striving to provide themselves with natural, environmentally friendly products. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, within the Let's Be Healthy project, tells about the most interesting farmers who grow delicious and natural products in Tatarstan.

One of these is Valery Tukmachev from the Yelabuga region. For several years now he has been growing vegetables in greenhouses. The farm receives support from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The farmer begins to plant seedlings in a greenhouse of ​​4800 square meters in February, and in March he already sells finished products to the locals and to the retail chains of Elabuga.

Farm products are distinguished by their environmental friendliness, therefore, they are in great demand in the market. This year, farmer Valeriy Tukmachev's has a great yield of tomatoes. Thanks to the favorable weather and timely measures, the tomatoes grew to a record weight: one tomato is 1 kg! The variety of this giant "Isabel F1 Gavrish", which has a strong immunity to infections, such as bacteriosis Alternaria. The prevailing weather conditions also had a favorable effect on the quality of the harvest, the tomatoes began to ripen intensively in the heat - the farmer collects about 750 kg of harvest every day. Ripe tomatoes and cucumbers are carefully harvested by hand.

Business is booming, which means the farmer has plans for the future - Valery Tukmachev wants to expand his production by building a small vegetable storehouse, which will allow selling finished products all year around.
