Today, Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev held a meeting to monitor the situation with socially significant agricultural products and food. The event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov.

According to Dmitry Patrushev, in general, the situation at the food market of the Russian Federation remains stable, there is no shortage of products in warehouses and distribution centers.

The Minister noted that, according to retail chains and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in a number of regions last week there was an increased demand for a number of durable goods, such as cereals, pasta, canned meat and fish, salt and sugar. However, at the beginning of this week the trend began to decline.

“The Ministry of Agriculture, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, continues to work on optimizing logistics, taking into account the increased demand for food products. We hope that special attention is also paid to this issue in the regions, ”said Dmitry Patrushev.

The head of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan reported on the current situation in Tatarstan. Marat Zyabbarov said that the country has a two-month supply of products. “There is no shortage of raw materials or finished products. According to retail chains, the peak of sales fell for the previous week. In order to meet the needs of the population, on March 21 in Kazan we held a fair on the territory of the agro-industrial park, where we brought all the necessary products, such as cereals, pasta, meat, canned food (stew), flour, granulated sugar. There was no excessive demand for products. For example, from the imported volume of buckwheat in 10 tons, only about 2 tons were sold. However, enhanced monitoring and daily analysis of the situation continues, ”said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Speaking about the price situation, the Head of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia said that there are no great changes at the moment, however, enhanced monitoring and analysis of the situation should continue. At the same time, the Minister called on the heads of the regional agro-industrial complex in case of significant price fluctuations to quickly analyze their causes.

Dmitry Patrushev also recalled the need for objective and timely informing citizens about the situation at the food market and its control.
