Today, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ildus Gabdrakhmanov, discussed land reclamation with agricultural producers of the republic.
The director of the FSBI Management "Tatmeliovodkhoz" Mars Khismatullin told about the development of irrigation in the republic over the past 10 years, starting from the abnormally dry 2010. During this time, 32.6 thousand hectares of irrigated land were built and reconstructed in 213 farms, 196.6 km of trunk pipelines were laid, technical re-equipment of land reclamation facilities on 13 064 hectares was completed, 414 irrigation equipment units, 95 drip irrigation systems were purchased, more than 300 water wells drilled, 95 water towers installed. Thanks to the large-scale work carried out, the yield on irrigated lands has grown 3-4 times, and the republic is guaranteed to be provided with vegetables and potatoes any weather.
“When watering, the cost of production is 2 or more times lower than under dry conditions. In the cost structure, irrigation takes up no more than 10% of the costs when cultivating potatoes and 20-25% when cultivating vegetables. 1 ruble of direct costs for irrigation provides additional products worth more than 12 rubles”, said Mars Khismatullin.
In 2020, it is planned to develop irrigated lands on 2.15 thousand ha. To do this, subsidies for 90% of expenses are provided for drilling wells for water and water towers. 33 million rubles are allocated. Subsidies will make 70% (100 million rubles) for the purchase of irrigation equipment and pumping and power equipment, as well as 70% and 171 million rubles for the construction and reconstruction of irrigated and drained lands. The ministry emphasized that the subsidy for drilling wells from this year will be available only by the completion of work.
At the end of the event, Ildus Gabdrakhmanov drew attention to the fact that a special commission was created at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan to consider applications from farmers who want to participate in land reclamation programs. Applications themselves and design estimates must be submitted before April 1 of the current year. It is on the basis of these materials that agricultural producers will be included in the financing program for 2020.
