The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan summed up the results of animal husbandry for the first two months of 2020

Today in the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, at a meeting with the districts, they summed up the livestock industry for January-February of 2020. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Lenar Garipov.

The event was attended by livestock consultants, heads of breeding services of agricultural and food departments in municipal areas and others.

The head of the department for the development of livestock industries Siren Nigmatzyanov presented the results of the livestock industry. In his speech, he focused on issues of milk and meat production, as well as analysis of the operation of farms.

Today the number of cattle on the territory of the republic is 706.6 thousand heads, including cows - 235.1 thousand heads, pigs - 461.0 thousand heads, sheep and goats - 59.2 thousand heads, birds - 17.2 million animals, horses - 18.9 thousand animals.

In January-February 2020, agricultural enterprises produced 221.6 thousand tons of milk (108% compared to last year), 67.6 thousand tons of meat (106%), including 16.3 cattle (grown) thousand tons (102%), pigs - 15.8 thousand tons (113%), poultry - 35.2 thousand tons (104%).

The negative dynamics of meat production compared to 2019 was shown by the Almetyevsky, Menzelinsky, Spassky, Bugulminsky and Agryzsky districts.

At the end of the speech, Siren Nigmatzyanov named the areas where the average daily gain of cattle is less than 650 grams. These were Laishevsky, Almetyevsky, Menzelinsky, Zelenodolsky, Chistopol, Verkhneuslonsky, Kamsko-Ustinsky and Agryzsky districts. All of them were recommended to pay more attention to this issue.

It should be noted that in the republic, in order to improve the genetic potential of livestock in private farms, it is recommended to develop artificial insemination, which will allow you to get healthy offspring.

At the end of the meeting, participants were invited to a training course on effective feed production, which will be held from March 23 to 29 at the Dairy Business Academy (Sabinsky district).
