In 2020, Tatarstan will continue subsidizing livestock breeding
On January 23, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Dzhambulat Khatuov held a meeting in the videoconferencing regime on issues of the domestic base of genetic resources and plans for its development. Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov, Deputy Minister Lenar Garipov, Head of the Main State Agricultural Breeding Administration for Animal Husbandry of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan Rishat Zaripov and heads of pedigree farms of Tatarstan took part in the event.
During the event, issues of the current state of the genetic resource base for all livestock sub-sectors, the effectiveness of providing state support for its development, and also to reduce import dependence by using genetic material of domestic reproduction were considered. According to Dzhambulat Khatuov, it is important to form a competitive domestic breeding base of farm animals on the market. “It is necessary to clearly understand that ensuring the country's food security directly depends on the availability of a domestic competitive base of pedigree products,” said the First Deputy Minister.
In Tatarstan, there are 76 breeding farms, including dairy cattle breeding 53 farms, beef cattle breeding - 3, pig breeding - 3, sheep breeding - 3, goat breeding - 1, horse breeding - 4, animal husbandry - 3, poultry farming - 2 and beekeeping 3 farms. State support for the development of livestock breeding in Tatarstan in 2019 amounted to more than 600 million rubles, and in 2020 it is planned in the amount of about 680 million rubles. Subsidies are provided to reimburse a part of the costs associated with the acquisition of breeding stock and its maintenance. The condition for the provision of a subsidy is that the recipients of pedigree have certificates or passports for each head of livestock.
