On January 14, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Dzhambulat Khatuov held a conference call with the heads of regional agricultural departments, representatives of industry unions and the scientific community, devoted to the preparation for spring field work and the use of domestic sowing material. The event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov.

Tatarstan was noted by the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia among the leading regions for liming acidic soils and technical modernization of agricultural machinery. In 2019, liming in the republic was carried out on an area of 57 thousand hectares. Recall that acidic soils are the specifics of our region and the main limiting factor in obtaining a good crop. Mineral fertilizers do not give an effect on them. First you need to lime the soil. 90% of the costs of agricultural producers are reimbursed by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan.

In addition, in 2019, the republic carried out significant work to modernize the agricultural machinery park, purchased 242 tractors, 130 combine harvesters, 32 forage harvesters and more than 2 thousand units of other agricultural machinery.

According to the First Deputy Minister, along with increasing fertility, technical modernization, applying organic and mineral fertilizers to increase the production of basic crops, the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev set the task of varietal renewal and application of seeds of domestic selection when sowing the 2020 crop. According to Dzhambulat Khatuov, Russian scientific institutions need to market their products.

“I consider it is necessary for the regions to be more active on introducing domestic varieties into production - this is a guarantee of the country's food security,” said the First Deputy Minister.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan recalls that the Tatarstan AgroSemExpert program helps farmers find the right batch of seeds for purchase, or place their proposals for their supply. The program also allows farms to conduct detailed analysis, monitor the quality and quantity of seeds. The system has a quick search for plant varieties included in the State Register of selection achievements approved for use. Farmers can use the program absolutely free.
