Tatarstan agricultural producers will receive compensation from the federal budget only for the death of insured winter crops
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan informs agrarians that by order of the Government of the Russian Federation, Tatarstan decided to allocate funds in the amount of 120 million rubles for agricultural producers who provided insurance coverage for their property interests related to agricultural production in the prescribed manner to compensate for damage caused by emergencies. Thus, only agricultural producers who insured crops can receive compensation from the federal budget.
Recall that in 2018, 580 thousand ha of winter crops were sown for the 2019 crop, but because of adverse weather conditions, they died on an area of 218 thousand ha. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan introduced an emergency regime to prevent a threat to food security in Tatarstan.
Agricultural producers collected the necessary packages of documents for reimbursement of direct costs incurred, totaling 1.6 billion rubles, which were examined by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. Only 12.5 thousand hectares were insured.
Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Zyabbarov during the Republican agronomic meeting noted that agricultural insurance is especially important for the regions of risk farming, which include the republic, and is a real opportunity for agricultural producers to conduct stable activities, forecast incomes without fear of adverse weather conditions.
According to the amendments to the law “On state support in agricultural insurance” and on amendments to the federal law “On the development of agriculture” that entered into force on March 1, the concept of the threshold for crop loss and perennial plantings is excluded from the agricultural insurance system, the list of risks has been expanded, the possibility of combining them for the farmer has been added.
Recall that the insured crop can serve as a security (pledge) upon receipt of various loans by agricultural producers. According to the proposals of insurance companies, crop insurance will cost farmers from 27 rubles per hectare of sown area, and these costs can be attributed to the cost of production.
