Speaking at a meeting in the Government House of Tatarstan, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic Marat Zyabbarov noted that in areas sown with elite seeds, the yield of grain and leguminous crops significantly exceeds the yield in fields sown with seeds of mass reproduction. The difference in yield "reaches up to 15 centners per hectare with exactly the same technology," the minister said.
The head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan recommended that farmers purchase seeds for the next year's sowing campaign only from trusted suppliers and informed that 40% of the cost of original and elite seeds was subsidized from the budget.
In addition, Marat Zyabbarov said that Tatarstan has developed the AgroSemExpert program, which will help farmers find the right batch of seeds for purchase or place their proposals for the supply. The program also allows farms to analyze, monitor the quality and quantity of seeds. The system has a quick search for plant varieties included in the State Register of selections approved for use.
Farmers can use the program for free. In order to access AgroSemExpert, just follow the link.
