Kazan Agrarian University celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Faculty of Agronomy
December 4, Kazan State Agrarian University solemnly celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Faculty of Agronomy. More than 200 guests gathered to celebrate the big anniversary, among them there were graduates of the faculty of different years and honored guests - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Rishat Khabipov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan on Ecology, Nature Management, Agriculture and Food Policy Tahir Hadeev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Chuvash Presidential Republic Petr Chekmarev, Deputy Minister of Forestry Ilgizar Zaripov and many others.
The guests got acquainted with the laboratories of the center for agroecological research and took part in the grand opening of specialized training and demonstration classes of OAO Trust Company Tatmelioration, Bayer JSC, Tatagrohimiservice JSC, Service Agro LLC, as well as the Museum of History of the Agronomy Faculty.
The ceremonial event was opened by the rector of the Kazan State Agrarian University Airat Valiev, who noted that the agronomist is the most important person in agriculture.
He emphasized that the creation of the faculty became an acknowledgment of the importance of agronomic education for the future of the country. Graduates and teachers of the faculty took part in the reconstruction of the country after the Civil War, participated in battles on the fields of the Great Patriotic War and carried a labor shift in the rear. The glorious history of the faculty is also connected with the heroic development of virgin lands, as well as the implementation of the Food Program, the introduction of intensive and adaptive agricultural technologies for cultivation.
Rishat Khabibov congratulated all those gathered in the assembly hall on the anniversary. He noted that the Republic of Tatarstan is among the regions of the Russian Federation with developed agriculture, and such results are achieved thanks to the high level of professional training of specialists working in the agricultural sector. But, as before, the agronomist remains in the center of all agricultural production. He emphasized that a great contribution to agriculture is made by graduates of the faculty working in agricultural enterprises, state and municipal government bodies of the Republic of Tatarstan.
He also wished that the students did not forget their alma mater and provided support, both in training and organizing field trips, and in providing a modern material and technical base for the faculty.
Rishat Khabipov spoke about measures to support students and graduates of agricultural universities from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan. He recalled that according to the results of each academic semester, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food selects 25 candidates from the Agrarian University and the Veterinary Academy to receive a nominal scholarship from the ministry.
“For children who want to return to work in the countryside later, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan has special target places that you can get to by contacting the Department of Agriculture and Food in your area. This is not only an opportunity to get higher education, but also a guarantee of employment, which today is very important for graduates. In addition, since 2014 the mechanism of motivated targeted training “Program 50/50” has been revived, when a student becomes a scholarship holder of an agricultural enterprise. The essence of the program is that the student receives a scholarship - 10 thousand rubles, 5 thousand of which are paid from the republican budget as part of state support for staffing the agricultural sector, and 5 thousand are paid by the agricultural enterprise, where the student will return after training for employment, ”the deputy minister said.
Also, Rishat Khabipov recalled that for young professionals who came to work in the village “lifting” in the amount of 150 to 300 thousand rubles and a monthly supplement for the first year of work in the amount of the minimum wage are provided.
