Sugar beet harvesting was completed in Tatarstan, the harvest was 2.8 million tons
The first Deputy Minister of agriculture and food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nail Zalakov reported on the progress of industrial crops harvesting at a republican meeting in the Government House of the Republic of Tatarstan. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held a videoconference with all areas. The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin.
Nail Zalakov said that this year, for objective reasons, the harvesting of sunflower, corn and sugar beets was carried over to November. Corn harvesting is almost completed. Of the total area of 203 thousand hectares, only 12 thousand hectares or 6% are not removed yet. 148 thousand tons of crops were harvested.
There are 28 thousand hectares of sunflower on the vine - 104 thousand hectares have already been harvested, farmers harvested 174 thousand tons of crop. Productivity is 17 kg / ha. “The necessary number of combines is available, some of them are on the fields. Cleaning is carried out both at subzero temperatures and during nighttime. With the onset of stable negative temperatures, the cleaning rate will be increased by several times, ”the speaker said.
In Tatarstan, sugar beet harvesting is completed. 2.8 million tons have been accumulated. Productivity was 441 kg / ha - one of the highest for all years of cultivation of this crop. 1.53 million tons or 55% were transported to the plants. All three republican enterprises are working properly. About 17 thousand tons of raw materials are processed daily. Since the beginning of the season, 189 thousand tons of granulated sugar have been produced. Processing is planned to be completed in January 2020.
Several events were held for the next year's harvest. An important agricultural method is the main tillage. To date, 96% of the areas (1.8 million hectares) have been cultivated, 45% of them with deepening of the arable layer.
Nail Zalakov noted that this year winter crops were planted on an area of 494 thousand hectares. Their condition is different than last year’s crop. Sowing was carried out at the optimum time. The presence of moisture made it possible to better prepare the soil and get shoots.
Also one of the components of the crop are seeds. According to Nail Zalakov, today many farms have established partnership with seed suppliers. At the same time, for the economy, a number of farms buy cheap seeds at random firms, where the quality does not always correspond to the declared one. As a result, there is a significant shortage of the crop. “Of course, there are fewer of these. I would ask farm managers to avoid these mistakes for the 2020 harvest, ”the speaker addressed the participants.
In general, the grain block in Tatarstan is closed due to its own seeds, with the exception of small volumes of delivery of new promising varieties from other breeding centers. For sowing the next year, 350 thousand tons of seeds, or 102% of the need, were filled.
