Tatarstan hosted agricultural fairs as part of the Decade of the Elderly

5 October 2019, Saturday

Today, Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny hosted fairs of agricultural products organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan. Agricultural producers from the regions of the republic, as well as agricultural enterprises, brought their own products.

Trading at fairs began with the first rays of the sun, and at 6 a.m. the platforms were filled with buyers. Agricultural fairs are traditionally enjoyed by citizens, especially the older generation, in good demand and are of great social importance. Here you can buy products such as meat, fish, milk, butter, honey, sausages, cheese, eggs, potatoes, vegetables, granulated sugar, flour, etc. at affordable prices. Halal products were also presented.

The fairs were inspected by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nikolay Titov, deputy ministers and heads of agro-industrial complex divisions and specialists of the ministry. They got acquainted with the range of products presented and their prices. In addition, all products have been checked by veterinary services.

“Today's fair is being held as part of the Decade of the Elderly, therefore, at each site, as a sign of attention and care for older people, tea tables with pancakes and pastries were provided, and a real pilaf was prepared in the cauldron in Moscow,” said Nikolay Titov.

The first shoppers at fairs are predominantly older people. They arrive at 5 a.m., without even having breakfast, so the hot meal turned out to be just what they needed. “You’re probably tired, come here, we’ve already made you some tea, have a rest,” the organizers of the fairs called the buyers.

Many guests left with full bags of products and said warm words of gratitude for the fair. Opportunities to sell their own products were also welcomed by farmers.

“The organization of such socially significant events requires considerable work and tremendous responsibility, but together, we can do a great and good deed, so we will definitely continue this work,” experts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan say.

Waiting for buyers at the agricultural fair next Saturday!
