Equestrian competitions dedicated to the Horse Day were held in the village of Novy Kirlay, Arsk district of Tatarstan. Athletes from all over the republic took part in races at a distance of 40, 80 and 120 kilometers. By the way, this year for the first time horses of the Tatar breed were presented at the competitions.

“The competition is being held for the fifth time. Today horse breeders from all over the republic gathered here. This year, visitors are waiting for an innovation - horses of the Tatar breed. They are very hardy, unpretentious, you can safely feed them. In addition, they have a very beautiful golden color, ”said Nazip Khazipov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The Tatar horse showed its endurance in practice - it was on such a horse that the participant from Leninogorsk Samat Nabiullin was the first to come to the finish line in the 40 km race. The young man said that he has been involved in equestrian sports for a long time. The horse of the Tatar breed became one of the best for him.

“At first, the distance was hard. After half way, some horses were already tired and surrendered, and we weren't. It’s like we’ve got a second wind, ”said the athlete.

In addition to the races, several bright and memorable contests were planned. For example, the contestants for the most beautiful wagon tried to surprise the guests with the unusual design of a horse cart.

“We are preparing for this event from the winter. Damir is very fond of horses. The whole family, together with his wife and daughter, they make decorations, prepare for the holiday, ”said a member of the team from the Arsky district.

In the competition for harness speed, the participants had to harness the horse as quickly as possible, put the hay in a cart and cover a distance of one hundred meters.

After the competition, visitors were attracted by the horse-racing “Audarysh”. According to the rules, two participants on horses had to fight until one of them fell to the ground. The spectacle was so amazing over several hundred people crowded to see that. Everyone shouted, applauded, actively supporting their "favorites."

During the day, guests of the event could also enjoy a festive concert, watch the performances of children from the Children's Sports School on equestrian sports, and also attend a master class in forging.
