Marat Akhmetov says: The amount of 100 kg of mineral fertilizers per hectare should be a regularity in Tatarstan

According to the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, grain harvesting is in full swing in the Republic. As of today, about 880 thousand ha (62%) have been harvested, more than 2.6 million tons of grain has been threshed. The average yield is 30.5 c / ha. More than 140 thousand tons are threshed daily. Speaking about yield forecasts, Marat Akhmetov noted that grain harvest this year will be about 4.5 million tons.
“This year, we managed to form a good crop not only of grain, but also of sugar beets, potatoes and corn. There are fields where the yield of winter crops is over 70 kg / ha, for example, at AF Menzelinsky Dawns LLC, Kalmurzino LLC, Menzelinsky District LLC, Logos R. Slobsky District LLC, Food Program LLC, Mamadyshsky District, ”said Marat Akhmetov.
“The last two weeks people have worked quite productively. Today, a powerful combine threshes 100-150 tons of grain per day. There are 600 thousand hectares more to harvest, mainly barley, and about 500 thousand hectares of spring wheat. It is likely to be in the second half of September. Later, we will have to harvest the sunflower. I hope that this year we will collect about 500 thousand tons of rapeseed and sunflower, ”the minister concluded.
Answering journalists' questions about how to counter adverse weather conditions, Marat Akhmetov noted the importance of deep tillage and the allocation of a sufficient amount of mineral fertilizers.
“During the 2019 harvest, 162.9 thousand tons of fertilizers were accumulated. or 56.8 kg ai / ha (2018 - 51.9 kg ai / ha). For Tatarstan, the introduction of 100 kg of the active substance of mineral fertilizers per hectare should be a regularity. Then we will be able to more effectively resist drought and get a decent harvest, despite the weather conditions, ”said Marat Akhmetov, citing the example of Tsilna LLC in the Drozhzhanovsky district, where the yield was 50.8 centners per hectare.
Also, the interest of the press was caused by grain prices for the new crop and the effectiveness of agricultural insurance. Marat Akhmetov recommended that farmers not rush to sell grain and wait for stable market prices to be set, and also noted the growing role of agricultural insurance with state support, saying that 180 thousand hectares (6.3%) of spring crops were insured in Tatarstan.
At the end of the meeting with reporters, Marat Akhmetov announced the holding of traditional socially important agricultural fairs in September this year, which will allow farmers to sell the grown products and the population to buy them at affordable prices, without trade margins.
