Marat Akhmetov urged to use grain dryers when harvesting in rainy weather

5 August 2019, Monday

The weather in August is expected to be rainy, and the agrarians of the republic should reconsider the tactics of harvesting. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov at a meeting in the House of the Government of the Republic

As noted by Marat Akhmetov, both the heads of municipal districts and heads of agricultural enterprises, and farmers “need to seriously reconsider the tactics of current harvesting” because of adverse weather conditions. High humidity of the grain associated with the last heavy rainfall in the republic makes it difficult to harvest.

The Minister emphasized that now farms should actively use their grain drying complexes.

“The republic, using all dryers around the clock, is able to dry 150 thousand tons of grain,” the head of the Ministry noted, adding that even taking into account the high humidity of grain, drying 100 thousand tons per day is a very real task.

According to the agency, the capacity of the dryers of farms and grain-receiving enterprises in the Tukaevsky district allows drying of more than 7 thousand tons of grain, in Nurlatsky - more than 6 thousand tons, Alkeevsky - about 5 thousand tons, Drozhzhanovsky - more than 5 thousand tons, Apastovsky, Arsky- about 5 thousand tons, Aktanyshsky, Buinsky, Kukmorsky - over 4 thousand tons per day. As the minister noted, in other areas there are also dryers.

Of course, drying grain leads to an additional cost, but, saving on this, losing grown bread is immoral.

According to Marat Akhmetov, the grain receiving enterprises of the republic are ready to provide grain drying services to farms where there are no drying facilities or their productivity is insufficient. According to the ministry, the cost of these services is almost the same at almost all of the republic's organizations.
