The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan held a meeting on the creation of a competitive breeding base

First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Nikolay Titov took part in a meeting led by Director of the Department of Livestock and Breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Kharon Amerkhanov via videoconference. The theme was the development of the scientific and technical program of the Union State for the development of a competitive livestock breeding industry Union State "BelRoszhivplem" ". The event was also attended by Rishat Zaripov, Head of the Department of the State Sanitary Committee of the State Agricultural University of Breeding in Animal Husbandry at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, and other interested persons.

The meeting highlighted the importance of the country's food security and the need to minimize Russia's dependence on suppliers of breeding products from other countries. “Creating a breeding base on the basis of the Union State will allow us to be competitive in the world market for high-quality genetic breeding material,” said Kharon Amerkhanov and asked the subjects to form a list of basic farms in the regions to participate in the Program.

Earlier, the Minister of Agriculture of Russia Dmitry Patrushev, speaking at the 56th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, reported on joint work with the Belarusian side on the priority areas of development of the agro-industrial complex. In particular, the Minister announced the development of the program of the Union State in the field of livestock breeding, the implementation of which will allow our countries to meet domestic needs for breeding material of national reproduction and create the possibility of increasing exports to third countries.
