Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that Tatarstan values its long-term cooperation with Efes. “The next step will be the creation of a production base for the cultivation of malting barley. This is a good source of income and the prospect for the development of our agriculture. We appreciate that the international company pays such attention to this project, ”said the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
As part of the agreement, AB InBev Efes will provide Tatarstan farmers with access to the SmartBarley technology platform, which allows analyzing yields of brewing barley cultivation. In addition, the company organizes annual training based on the world's best practices for brewing barley cultivation.
Dmitry Shpakov, President of AB InBev Efes, emphasized that the new program will allow creating a production cluster on the territory of the republic for the production of malting barley, its processing and malt production. “We will more effectively interact with our partners, barley producers. If we talk about numbers, over the next few years we plan to increase the purchase of brewing barley from local farmers by 40 times, ”he said.
“Our main goal is to promote the development of agriculture. I am confident that together we will achieve the successful implementation of this program, ”added the President of Anadolu Efes, Jan Chaki.
