The Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan reports that milk in consumer packs, yoghurts, kefir and some types of cheese will be included into the electronic veterinary certification system "Mercury" from November 1, 2019, and part of dairy products will go into system from July 1. This is stated in the order of the Ministry of Agriculture, published on the portal of legal information.
According to the document, from July 1, milk and cream, condensed or with added sugar or other sweeteners, butter, grated cheeses or powdered cheeses, processed and blue cheeses will be subject to certification. Pasteurized milk and cream, manufactured industrially and packaged in consumer packaging, still will not be included in the "Mercury".
From November 1, 2019, milk and cream, buttermilk, yogurt, kefir, whey, butter, cheese and cottage cheese will be accompanied by veterinary documents. The list will also include ice cream, except for products developed on a fruit-berry basis, fruit and food ice.
The system "Mercury" is being used in Russia since July 1, 2018. The system records information about livestock products moved and sold on the territory of Russia, which allows you to track the entire way of production "from field to counter" and prevent illegal importation of food into the country.
