On April 12, Nikolay Titov, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan, met with a delegation led by the Secretary General of the Venture Investment Commission of the All-China Association of Financial Assistance to the Development of Science and Technology, Chairman of the Union of Strategic Cooperation to Develop the Eurasian Market in the High-Tech and Innovation Industry Xu Xiaoping. The meeting was also attended by Deputy General Director of Consulting Department of Beijing Public Trust Management Consultant Ltd Xiang Liu, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildus Gabdrakhmanov, Nazip Hazipov, Talgat Tagirzyanov, representatives of the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Opening the meeting, First Deputy Minister Nikolay Titov warmly greeted the guests in their native language and acquainted them with the agro-industrial potential of Tatarstan, noting that the republic is always open for interesting investment projects aimed at developing the processing industry and export.
“China is also a large agrarian republic. In China great attention is paid to investments in high technology and the production of environmentally friendly high-quality products. The task of the Commission is to create a sustainable financing system for small and medium-sized innovative companies developing breakthrough technologies, as well as developing a strategy for developing the Chinese venture capital market, ”said Ms. Xu Xiaoping, who participated in the creation of a network of state-owned technoparks in China and has significant experience in organizing innovative infrastructure work and attracting investment resources. As General Secretary of the Commission, she presented the Chinese closed-cycle project on fish farming and caviar production. The project involves the cultivation of high-quality beluga and sterlet hybrid in natural reservoirs and is already being implemented in the northeast part of China, Japan, USA and Canada. For the reproduction of fish according to this technology the certain climatic conditions are necessary, as much as possible recreating the natural habitat of sterlet.
The parties discussed the possibility of implementing the project in the Republic of Tatarstan and agreed on the need to study the system of reservoirs of the republic, suitable for the project on temperature regime and elaboration of the legislative framework together with the Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic.
The second project presented by the Chinese side was the manufacture of medicines based on pig products. The parties planned to analyze in detail the possible volumes in the Republic and Russia in general and decide on the construction of a processing plant or export of products.
Summing up the meeting, Nikolay Titov noted that the Ministry is open to cooperation and is ready to assist in the implementation of investment projects in the republic and to ensure exports.
